At Christ’s College library we can provide:
Book fetching: If finding books is difficult due to a disability (of any kind), we can fetch books for you.
Your fetched books are reserved on the hold shelf opposite the self-issue machines on Floor 1 of the Library. You will need to place them on your account or ask library staff to do it for you.
Please contact us at library@christs.cam.ac.uk with the details of the books you would like us to fetch. We are also happy to discuss alternative locations for book collection or any other adjustments you need.
1 to 1 inductions: Library staff will be happy to introduce you to all of our library resources. Please book an appointment by contacting: library@christs.cam.ac.uk
Extended loans: When registered with the ADRC you may be entitled to extended book loans (28 days instead of 14).
Your loans can still be renewed 4 times, and you will receive an email a few days before the book is due back so you have time to renew or return it.
If a book is requested by another library user, you will receive an email and be asked to return the book within 3 days. If you are unable to do this, please contact Library staff at library@christs.cam.ac.uk so that we can help.
Non-Medical workers: Please make sure that non-medical workers are introduced to Library staff so that we can assist them.
Alternative formats: The Libraries Accessibility Service provides information about alternative formats.
Scan and Deliver: The University Library offers a Scan and Deliver service of up to one chapter (or 5%) or a book. If you need more and qualify for a Copyright exception due to a disability, please contact the Libraries Accessibility Service.
If there are any additional services you feel we could provide, please do not hesitate to contact the library at library@christs.cam.ac.uk.
