In some courses, such as Modern and Medieval Languages and Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, the third year of the course is spent abroad.
The current room system for Christ's students who have their third year abroad is to join the room ballot as normal in second year, except that whilst everyone else is picking from the available rooms for their third year room, the students with third uear abroad pick from the available rooms for their fourth year room. This means that you are neither at an advantage nor at a disadvantage when choosing your fourth year room as you pick in the same ballot position as if you had been picking a third year room.
