David Sedley's books include The Hellenistic Philosophers (1987, with A.A. Long), Lucretius and the Transformation of Greek Wisdom (1998), Plato's Cratylus (2003), The Midwife of Platonism: Text and Subtext in Plato's Theaetetus (2004), and Creationism and its Critics in Antiquity (2007, from his 2004 Sather Lectures at the University of California, Berkeley).
He works on the editing of philosophical papyri, and has also been editor of Classical Quarterly (1986-1992) and Oxford Studies in Ancient Philosophy (1998-2007).
He has frequently given talks or run weekend courses for the public, on ancient philosophy and science, and see his Lady Margaret Lecture on Socrates vs Darwin. He has also appeared on In Our Time on BBC Radio 4.
