Dr Huang-Doran is an academic endocrinologist at the Wellcome-MRC Institute of Metabolic Science, where she combines laboratory-based metabolic research with clinical practice in endocrinology and diabetes. She completed both her medical training and PhD at Christ’s, as part of the Cambridge MB/PhD programme. During her PhD, she studied novel genetic syndromes of severe insulin resistance, contributing valuable insights to our understanding of defective insulin action associated with obesity and type 2 diabetes. As an NIHR-funded Clinical Lecturer, her research now focuses on the close relationship between metabolic disease and reproductive health. In particular, she is exploring the molecular mechanisms by which obesity predisposes towards endometrial cancer.
