Martin Frost (m. 1982), CEO of Cambridge-based CMR Surgical, was named ‘Disruptor’ winner at the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year™ 2019 UK awards last night in London. Last week, Martin spoke at the inaugural Christ's Lifesciences Network event about the work he has achieved with CMR Surgical.

Honoured with the ‘Disruptor’ award, Martin was commended by the judges for "the creation of his ‘Versius’ robot, which has the potential to transform the surgical industry". The judges were particularly impressed with the speed of its development.  CMR Surgical was able to sell the robot to hospitals in a development time of only five and a half years – an incredibly short amount of time for the industry. CMR Surgical is a Cambridge-based medical device company founded in 2014 to develop a next-generation robotic system for minimal access surgery.
