This week the Governing Body confirmed the appointment of Dr Tom Monie as Senior Tutor of Christ’s College.
Dr Monie completed a BA in Natural Sciences and a PhD in Molecular Virology at the University of Cambridge as a student of Christ's College. After working as a postdoctoral researcher at Imperial College, he returned to Christ's in 2006 as a Bye-Fellow and later Fellow and is Director of Studies in Biological Natural Sciences.
He is currently Deputy Director of Academic Centres (Academic) and Academic Director for STEM (Biological), University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE).
Simon, Lord McDonald of Salford, Master of Christ’s said:
“Tom Monie has been a valued member of the Christ’s community for many years. Having acted in the past as Senior Tutor, covering his illustrious predecessor’s absences, he now steps up to take the job substantively. I am delighted and wish him all the very best in this key role.”
