Dr Camilla Nord is a Programme Leader at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, University of Cambridge where she directs the Mental Health Neuroscience Lab, and has a dual faculty appointment at the Department of Psychiatry. Camilla is an expert on the neuroscience of mental health disorders. Her lab innovates new approaches to treatment, such as neurostimulation, with a particular expertise in brain-body and metabolic neuroscience. Dr Nord’s work is internationally recognised by numerous awards, and is widely covered with features in The Sunday Times, BBC, Sky News, The New Yorker, and NPR, among others. She is the author of the popular science book The Balanced Brain: The Science of Mental Health, a Times and Financial Times 2023 Book of the Year.

Dr Nord lectures on undergraduate and postgraduate neuroscience and psychology courses, and supervises Part IB PBS/NST papers (cognitive neuroscience). She studied Psychology, Physiology, and Philosophy at Magdalen College Oxford before obtaining her PhD in Neuroscience from University College London.
