Calling all Slavonic-curious linguists, literary critics, cultural historians and political scientists! Applications have now closed for the Cambridge University Slavonic Studies Taster Day on Wednesday 3 July.

We're excited to offer this taster visit opportunity as a collaboration between the Cambridge University Slavonic Studies department, Christ’s College and Trinity College.

Nations and Cultures Taster Day Christ's Logo
Wed 3 July at Christ's College

There will be a particular focus on the three Slavonic languages and cultures that are currently taught at Cambridge: Polish, Russian and Ukrainian. We will offer language “taster” sessions and two sample lectures, designed to provide a glimpse into the academic life of the Slavonic Section.

If you are thinking of applying for any of the following courses and/or language combinations, then this might be the perfect opportunity for you:

*NB you can apply for all of these combinations having never studied Russian before. We welcome both those looking to take Beginners’ Russian (ab initio) and Russian post-A Level. We also welcome applications from those who are considering taking a language-based course but still undecided. Polish and Ukrainian are offered as optional ‘papers’ (modules) in the second and fourth year of study; you do not need to apply for these at the point of submitting your UCAS application

Applications have now closed for this event (the application deadline was 9 June)

22 June: We will be in touch with students who applied for a place in the next few days

Trinity CollegeOvernight accommodation
Night of Wed 3 July at Trinity College

When you complete an application for the Nations and Cultures Taster Day, you will be asked if you would like to book accommodation. For those studying overnight, we will walk you over to Trinity College at the end of the Taster Day (Trinity is very close to Christ's).
