New Court (or the Lasdun Building as it is properly called), is an example of Brutalist architecture designed by Sir Denys Lasdun. It contains undergraduate accommodation rooms together with the Yusuf Hamied Centre (where we have common rooms, theatre, TV room, gym, function room, one of the music rooms, and the squash court) and a seminar room. In front of the buildlings there's the small Darwin Garden, including a bronze sculpture of the young Darwin, and in 2023 we fitted thirty six solar panels onto the Lasdun Building. This is the first phase of a 2-year project.
