On Tuesday 13 August 2024 International A level results are published and on Thursday 15 August 2024 results are published for a number of qualifications including most A levels, Pre-U and STEP Mathematics. If your grades meet or exceed your offer conditions
Congratulations! In the vast majority of cases, your place will be confirmed in your UCAS Account, which you should be able to access once UCAS opens on Thursday 15 August. UCAS starts updating at 8am UK time, though be aware that it may take a little time for you to access your account/update as the site will be busy. We will also email you as soon as we can manage it, starting from 9am on 15 August. This will take some time but we hope to be able to email you by the end of the day and will update you here if not.
For those starting in Oct 2024, once you can see that your place is confirmed with UCAS, we invite you to read the information at the following link:
NB. If you are a home fees student, please make sure that you note the information in the link above about the Bridging Course, as we'll be contacting you next week to let you know if you are required to attend or not (this affects your arrival date).
If your grades do not meet your offer requirements
This information is relevant if you have missed any part of your offer conditions, even if you have met or exceeded some of the other conditions.
Students who have narrowly missed grade requirements are considered (on the basis of your whole application) for any remaining places. We will email all students whose grades do not exactly meet the offer requirements when possible. Some students will be contacted sooner than others but you should receive either a decision or an update email at some point on Thursday 15 August.
IMPORTANT - ACTION NEEDED: As UCAS only sends us overall grades for each subject, if you have missed ANY PART OF your grade requirements, please scan and send your complete results statement(s) as an email attachment to admissions@christs.cam.ac.uk. We'll need this for all subjects, so that we can see any breakdown and exactly how close to meeting your offer you were. Please remember to include your name, subject and UCAS Personal ID in your email. We hope to have all results statements by 12 noon at the very latest, and ideally before - please do not delay sending your statement/breakdown. We will acknowledge receipt.
When you receive a decision / update email from us, please ensure that you read the text of our email carefully and in full as there may be important information in it.
In some cases, you will find that your UCAS account will already have updated with a decision when UCAS opens (and you will also receive an email during Thursday morning). In other cases, a decision will not yet be available so UCAS will not have updated yet - it will update once a decision is available (and it may well update before we can email you).
Apart from scanning your results statement to admissions@christs.cam.ac.uk, reading your emails and keeping an eye on this page, there is nothing you need to do. Please understand that we can not give decisions over the phone under any circumstances and we will not answer the phone whilst we are busy sending emails. It is best to wait to hear from us, difficult as we know this is. In most cases, you will have a decision by late on Friday (at the latest).
If a teacher or UCAS referee wants to write to us, the address is admissions@christs.cam.ac.uk, though note that this is not required. Please do not re-send information that has already been sent to us - we already have it.
If you email us during this period, please ensure that you start your email with your name, subject and UCAS number as usual.
We know that this is a very difficult time for students who have not received grades that meet offer conditions, and we will do our very best to keep you updated here as far as this is possible. The box below is where we'll put any updates.
If you received grades from other qualifications (including IB) earlier in the year
Although 15 August isn't your results day, it is still relevant as shortly afterwards we can start preparing things for students due to start in October 2024.
- Students who have met offer conditions at any point since offers were issued in January will receive an email from us on 15 August at the same time as students who have received results on 15 August.
- Students whose grades do not meet offer requirements should receive a decision by 23:59 on Friday 16 August at the latest. Once available, decisions will be on UCAS and we will also send you an email. Tip: In most cases, Your UCAS account will update before we are able to email you.
If you are holding an unconditional offer
We've not forgotten you! If you have an unconditional offer and did not receive exam grades this year, then if your course starts in October 2024, you will receive the same information as other new students in due course. Although not specifically written for you, see the page for students with a newly confirmed place for October 2024 entry at Christ's (the link will only start working on 15 August).
If your course starts in October 2025 or beyond, please see the page for deferred entry offer holders.
Info for students with other queries
We are mostly unable to answer queries about other matters this week (not only because of limited time, there are strict restrictions on communication with offer holders during the period immediately before Thursday 15 August). Our apologies for keeping you waiting but we will be in touch as soon as possible after Thursday/Friday. Thank you for your patience!
